By the end of 2019，Germany’s “Merkel 4.0” government is halfway through its term of office，and its mid-term self-evaluation of performance in domestic and foreign policy was up to par，but this has not been acknowledged by the German people. This also reflects that in the transition period，German society has not yet reached a broad consensus on its future direction.
