Supports Fight against COVID-19 and Actively Resumes Work and Production

ABB has been very concerned about the COVID-19 outbreak,paying close attention to the needs of the frontline,and standing firm alongside all parties to support the efforts in containing the virus while ensuring the health and safety of its employees.

Immediately after the outbreak,ABB announced a donation of 1 million yuan to the China Foundation for Poverty to support the needs of frontline medical staff in the affected areas. ABB also used its global supply chain and delivered a first batch of 10000 medical N95 face masks to the Union Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology which is located in Wuhan,and further donated more N95 masks to the hospitals in Beijing,Shanghai,Xiamen,Chongqing and other places,to support safety protection for the frontline medical staff.

Meanwhile,ABB team has contributed to many virus-prevention projects by working closely with the customers and partners and leveraging its advantages in technology,products,services and supply chain. The projects included the renovation of several module hospitals in Wuhan,the construction of Xiaotangshan-style hospital in Guizhou,the expansion of Shanghai Jinshan Hospital and more. In cooperation with China Beidou Satellite Navigation System,ABB provided the Mobile Gas Leak Detection System to safeguard the operation of urban gas networks. ABB also timely resumed its online services and provided remote support to ensure the impact for the customers is as minimal as possible.

With the strong support of local governments and authorities,ABB’s factories,branches and offices around the country have re-started work and production since early February. On March 11,ABB has also resumed the construction of ABB’s new robotics factory,a key investment of 1 billion yuan in Shanghai. ABB is driving forward the battle against the virus and production resumption simultaneously,actively coordinating the supply chain to ensure a smooth recovery of business and operation. Looking forward,ABB will continue expanding its investment in China and contribute to the long-term stable and sustainable development of China.
