The work on organ transplantation in China began in the 1960s. In the past 20 years, great achievements have been made in the clinical and scientific research of organ transplantation in China. Currently, the number of donations and transplantation cases annually has ranked the first in Asia and the second worldwide.2706316 Such indicators as the survival rate of graft/recipient have ranked among the top in the world. The attitude of the Chinese government to human organ donation and transplantation is consistent and clear. The Chinese government firmly adheres to the internationally recognized ethical principles for organ transplantation, follows the principle of voluntariness and gratuitousness for organ donation after the death of citizens, uses organs conforming to ethical principles, strictly controls organ transplantation from living donors, prohibits transplantation in the name of tourism, protects the rights of organ donors and recipients, realizes the scientific and fair distribution of human organs, and promotes the standardized development of organ donation and transplantation in China within the framework of the rule of law.2706317
