China and India are the two largest developing countries in the world. Building a healthy and cooperative neighborhood is not only in the fundamental interest for themselves, but also has huge implications for preserving the stability and peace in Asia and even in the whole world. Though there exist difficulties and obstacles in promoting and ameliorating the bilateral relations, there are many favorable conditions. We are convinced that the hurdles will ultimately be overcome as long as the two governments remain serious, determined and far-sighted. The two governments should have great vision, enhance mutual trust, remove misunderstanding, make a joint effort in forging the “strategic and cooperative partnership for peace and prosperity”, and play a more active role in the world.
