This paper discusses the resource condition of tourism systems through a case study on the ancient villages of Xidi and Hongcun of Anhui Province with respect to theoretical and practical problems in sustainable development of tourism areas. Based on the study，this paper analyzes relevant protective and exploitative conditions，reveals normal evolutional patterns through a series of models and methods then provides imitable threads for the development of tourism areas both in theory and in practice.
