This article attempts to explore the commonalities and differences in tourism research contents and methods at home and abroad through comparison of the articles published in two journals，Annals of Tourism Research and Tourism Tribune，since 2000.The research points out that there are distinct differences in tourism research contents and methods between two journals. The former stresses the study of tourism impact，tourism anthropology，tourism sociology and ecotourism；while the latter pays attention to more practical research，with the emphasis on the study of tourism economy and management，tourism resources development and planning. In terms of research methods，the former mainly adopts the method of summation while the latter mainly uses the method of description. Through comparison and analysis of the two representative journals，this article intends to provide some enlightening thoughts on the future development of Tourism Tribune and tourism research in China.
