辽河是东北地区南部的主要河流,其航运事业历史久远。进入清代以后,由于移民的大批涌入、土地的大量开垦、粮食及各种经济作物商品化程度越来越高,地区输出猛增,河运海运兴盛繁荣。清朝建立以前,东北的经济结构,南部以农业为主,东北以渔猎为主,西北以游牧为主,这个格局持续了两千余年;而二百余年的辽河航运,对这个固有结构的瓦解起了巨大的推动作用。正因为辽河航运,东北各地市场之间、东北与全国市场及世界市场才紧紧联系起来。本书围绕着如上主题,分十五章展开研究,在梳理事实的基础上,进行宏观的分析,以期从辽河航运这个特殊的视角把握东北历史的发展进程。
