《宗教与历史(第九辑)》集中于明清以来基督宗教的汉语文献研究。基督宗教的汉语文字事工在当时是宣教的有利工具、西学的重要载体，在后世又成为学人历史溯源的珍贵资料。在上海大学陶飞亚教授主持的国家社科基金重大项目“汉语基督教文献书目的整理与研究”的支持下，其团队近年致力于汉语文献的搜集、整理工作，并多次召开学术会议加强国内外学者的交流。
本辑收录的文章来自2016年11月上海大学宗教与中国社会研究中心举办的第二届“汉语文献与基督教中国化研究”学术研讨会，从史学、哲学、文学、区域传播等诸多角度对各种类型的汉语基督教文献进行了整理与分析，并介绍了欧洲汉学家对现代中国基督教文学的探讨。本辑意在通过不同层面与视域的讨论，凸显基督宗教汉语文献的学术价值与研究意义。

,AbstractEN:Shengchao Poxie ji is a collection of many anti-Catholic articles，it includes some materials relates to the Nanjing and Fujian Persecution，and some objections to Catholicism from Confucian literati and Buddhists of Late Ming China. It not only reveals the situation of Catholicism at Late Ming China，but also could be treated as a typical text which reveals the confrontation between Chinese and Western culture. The analysis of this text is helpful to understand some discussion about the confrontation between Catholicism and Chinese culture，also the relation between Confucianism，Buddhism and Catholicism of Late Ming，and the development process of history of thought from Late Ming to Modern time.

,AbstractEN:This paper will discuss A Brief Discussion of Catholic Meditation，a book written by Reformed Franciscan missionary Francesco Jovino （1688-1737） during the time of Yongzheng and Qianlong's imperial edicts against Christianity in 1717 and 1724. We will first introduce the meditative tradition of Francisicanism，then sketch the historical and social context of Jovino's mission in Gansu. This context will allow a preliminary analysis of the theology of this book. By doing so，we hope to shed light on the Catholic missions in Gansu Province in mid-Qing period，and show how some missionaries responded to the edicts of persecution by promoting the spiritual traditions of Franciscanism.

,AbstractEN:The Chinese Catholic apologetics literature Shengjiao Lizhengwas published during late Qing period. With its wide spread among Catholics all over China，it had been created numerous versions by different Catholic scholars. Pierre Hoang as a prominent Chinese Catholic scholar had written many books which also contained his twice editions about Sheng jiao li zheng . His editions deepened the apologetics meaning of this book，also promoted its spread among Chinese Catholics. His editing manuscripts which are preserved by Xujiahui Library offer us special materials to observe this Chinese priest's interpretations on combining Catholic theology and Chinese traditional culture. In the creation and spread process of modern Chinese Catholic literature，Fr. Hoang and other Chinese priests had been the main writers definitely. This obvious development showed its historical connections during late Ming and early Qing period，also reflected the particular characteristics of Catholic Church in modern times of China.

,AbstractEN:As an early Christian missionary to China，William Muirhead was assigned to Shanghai for 53 years. He witnessed the history of Chinese society in the late Qing and the development of Christianity in Chinese. A large number of his Chinese religious publication was an important manifestation of his insistence on mission. Its content and form not only reflected William Muirhead's adjustment as individual in Chinese，but also closely connected with the change of the late Qing. The analysis of his Chinese writings has important significance to the study of Christianity history.

,AbstractEN:The dual role that The Chinese Recorderplayed in the relationship between Buddhism and Protestant is the recorder and participant. From the Late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China，the hostile attitude of The Chinese Recorderto Buddhism became friendly. During the Late Qing Dynasty，some missionary's attitude to Buddhism were disgusted，others were friendly. Some disputes broke out between the two sides，which were published in The Chinese Recorder . The editors of the journal expressed the negative emotion to Buddhism occasionally，but they preferred to provide the platform for the argument. In China，especially in 20s and 30s，the missionaries had more tolerance so that they didn't view rudely Buddhism as heresy any more. The reason were not only derived from the missionaries who changed their arrogance to Chinese culture，but also originated from the guide and choice of The Chinese Recorder .

,AbstractEN:Since Muslim evangelization became one of the main agenda at the World Missionary Conference in Edinburgh 1910，in which the written propaganda had been played the role of principle part，evangelical Protestant missionaries in China appealed to make plans for Muslim evangelization and prepare Christian literature specially for Chinese Muslim. In 1917 the establishment of a special committee for Muslim Work for the study of Islam within the Continuation Committees，protestant missionary Isaac Mason put forward a proposal of conciliatory strategy，which focused on Chinese Muslim intellectual，conciliatory narrative instead of apologetic criticism.The early written propaganda is directly influenced by this changed strategy，when it gradually adapted to the Chinese environment.Besides he translated and edited 16 Chinese books，which he had been regard as the apostolate among Chinese Muslims.

,AbstractEN:In the process of the missionary work in the ethnic area of Southwest China，Christianity created a new situation of religious communication by creating writing systems for the ethnic group without scripts.On the one hand，the creations of scripts are better for the Christian translation classicand communication of Christianity culture，even promoting the development of the traditional ethnic church，and has a far-reaching influence on the development of the post-colonial era of Christianity；on the other hand，the text and the minority mission consciousness formation and construction of Christianity are closely intertwined，to a certain extent，reshape the ethnic group identity，so that the original form in a relatively stable region of the living space of collective identity migration is occurred.

,AbstractEN:In 1927，Gu Shangqin is from china to serve in the ELIM GOSPEL HALL IPOH of Brethren Church in Malaysia. From 1937 to 1944，According to the scriptures of the Bible，Gu Shangqin composed the hymnal Linggein which include 366 hymns.Linggeis the vernacular scripture hymnal，the hymns use a large number of antithesis，repetition，quotes and other rhetoric，and through different visions，construction of artistic conception and other artistic techniques to highlight the Christian faith connotation. The author chooses Wang Zhaoxiang's Jingtiduangeand Han Fenggang's Linggeto make a comparative study. The purpose of this paper is to explore the artistic techniques of Gu Shangqin's Linggeand tension between the expression of these artistic and the expression of fraternity of the Brethren Church well as the uniqueness of the Linggein the same period.

,AbstractEN:The Christian Farmerwas an important Christian periodical for the countryside in the Republic of China era. The closure and resume publication of this periodical after the founding of New China really was a fight for control of the periodical，which involved the journal's guiding principle，the fund raising，the social relationship，the political climate，and so on. The fuse of the closure incident was the sudden death of Zhang Xueyan，who was the soul of this periodical，then the NCCRSU tried to regain the control. After this plan failed，the NCCRSU attempted to start a new periodical The Christian Service Newsin order to replace The Christian Farmer . Following concerted efforts by Zhang Xueyan's widow Dong Mofang and the leader of the Council of Christian Publishers Wu Yaozong，The Christian Farmer eventually resumed publication and continued the old guiding principle which was established by Zhang Xueyan.

,AbstractEN:Yale Divinity School Library has an extensive Christian literature collection.The historical documents about about Chinese Christian are the major characteristics.Except English material，there are considerable of Chinese prints，manuscripts，diaries，missionaries' personal files，multiple Chinese Bible rersion and Christian propaganda which are necessary reference for study of Chinese and Western cultural exchange and modern history of Chinese Christianity. Chinese Christian study is undergoing a paradigm shift from Western Christian missionary movement to China Christian. Exploring Chinese Christian historical documents not only helps to expand the data base of Chinese Christian research，but also can slove the new problems brought by Paradigm shife. Chinese scholars should explore their language historical documents and promote the development of Christian historical research.
