This paper reviews the latest development of legal aid in China in 2015 mainly in terms of the general policy breakthrough，the promotion of local implementation measures，the enlargement of the legal aid scope，the increased numbers of the cases，and the improvement of its quality evaluation system. It then takes the specific issues such as criminal legal aid and equal access to justice for persons with disabilities to reveal the rich details of the legal aid development. It also explores the related legislative progress and provides suggestions for the further institutionalization of legal aid.
