Trends in the World’s Major Capital Markets
Since Mar. 2009,the world’s major capital markets bottomed out,with the slow recovery of world economy rebounding in the fluctuation. In 2010,the performance of world’s major capital markets is mixed due to the impact of economic policy adjustment in countries. Based on the research of capital markets in U.S.,Germany,France,UK,Japan,and emerging economies of the BRIC countries,this article tries to judge the movement of global capital markets.
Ⅰ Review on global capital markets and major developed economies’ capital markets
Money pushes the world to work. Driven by the globalization and integration,the global capital markets have never been so huge,so vibrant,and so diverse.
1.General overview of the global capital markets
First,the global capital market is rapidly expanding and deepening. Back in 2003,the total assets of the global capital markets have topped USD 118 trillion. These years after 2003,the global capital markets are accelerating development,coupled with the injection and other rescue measures adopted by countries in the international financial crisis,it is estimated that the total assets of global capital markets are far more than USD 200 trillion. Second,the development of global capital markets is uneven. U.S. is still the world’s largest capital market,attracting a large number of foreign securities issuers and investors. The European market is in the integration process,and its market share gradually increases. Due to by the sovereign debt crisis,capital market integration and development trend are affected to some extent.
