Greater metropolitan areas，or greater metropolitan circles，are products of industrialization or urbanization that has developed to a certain degree. The new-type urbanization in China should mainly take on the form of greater metropolitan area and city cluster and should focus on promoting the integration of metropolitan areas and city clusters. This paper discusses the concept，theory and significance of greater metropolitan areas integration，challenges and solutions to this process，and the ideas and suggestions on the integration of greater metropolitan areas in Zhengzhou.
