本书从思想政治教育大系统中析离出思想政治教育接受过程这一元问题，选取大学生作为研究样本，确定选题。在问题研究过程中，秉承从理论到实践的逻辑路径，按照“提出问题”“分析问题”“解决问题”的思路展开，具体为以下三个方面。

第一，新时代大学生思想政治教育接受过程的运行分析。大学生思想政治教育接受过程的运行包括从发生、发展到完成的各个阶段和环节。研究遵循运行的一般流程，提取出大学生思想政治教育接受过程的运行前提、运行动力、运行线路、运行过程、运行阶段、运行机制、运行规律、效果测评八个基本问题，粗线条勾勒出大学生思想政治教育接受发生、发展的运行态势。

第二，新时代大学生思想政治教育接受过程的实证分析。编制大学生思想政治教育接受过程的问卷，在实证调研的基础上，提炼大学生思想政治教育接受过程存在的问题，探析影响大学生思想政治教育接受的因素，为优化大学生思想政治教育接受过程提供依据。
